Central Asia is strengthening its role in the global sustainable development agenda.

A UN Regional Centre for the Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan has been established in Almaty - a new platform for coordination, expertise, and joint solutions.

This step reflects the growing importance of the region in addressing climate change, environmental challenges, water security, and socio-economic resilience.

Hosting the Centre in Almaty underscores Kazakhstan’s role as a hub for regional dialogue and partnership with the United Nations.
