Regional Environmental Agenda: Approaches to Sustainable Development Agreed in Aktau

A meeting of Central Asian environmental ministers was held in Aktau to prepare for the 2026 Regional Environmental Summit.
According to AZERTAC, citing the press service of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Babayev, President of COP29 and Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, delivered a welcoming video address to the participants.
During the meeting, the updated Concept for the 2026 Regional Environmental Summit was presented and discussed, as well as the draft Joint Declaration of the Heads of State of Central Asia on Regional Cooperation in the Field of Environment and Sustainable Development.
The participants exchanged proposals and agreed on approaches for future joint work.
