A regional environmental summit will be held in Astana

The Regional Environmental Summit 2026 will be held in Astana from April 22-24, 2026, Elordainfo.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The summit will bring together Central Asian countries to foster a coordinated dialogue on key climate and environmental issues. The summit's thematic program covers support for climate transition, adaptation and economic resilience to environmental and natural risks, food security and regional ecosystems, sustainable natural resource management, air pollution and waste management, a just and inclusive regional transition, mechanisms for achieving environmental ambitions, and environmental and digital competencies for a sustainable future.

The event will be attended by representatives of government agencies from the region, international organizations, development institutions, academia, business, and civil society. Approximately 1,500 delegates are expected to attend.

The summit will also feature the RES 2026 EXPO, an international exhibition of environmental and green technologies, designed to showcase practical technological and investment solutions in sustainable development.

Earlier, a 12-year-old schoolboy from Astana presented a series of environmental fairy tales.
