National Water Resources Information System Launched in Kazakhstan

The system is already operating in pilot mode, with most modules launched and a unified digital database of water infrastructure currently being developed.

Thousands of organizations and users have been connected to the system. The platform already maps thousands of rivers, lakes and hydraulic structures.

This data enables authorities to forecast water shortages, account for transboundary flows and develop more effective water policies.

Digital technologies are becoming a key tool for sustainable water resource management.

RES 2026 will provide a platform to discuss modern solutions in this area.
